Our shared life

Values you can see in action.

Our saying at Bethel is that we are “Better Together.” Christian unity is essential in the life of the believer.

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity.” — Psalm 133:1 “…being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord.” — Philippians 2:2 “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” — John 13:35 “For just as the body is one and has many members … so it is with Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 12:12

For Bethel, this is not just a saying but a lifestyle pursued through six core values.

Worship together

Our corporate gathering is where the church worships together through singing praise and preaching the Word. As much as possible, Bethel’s worship reflects Colossians 3:16. Each week, Bethel desires to create a place where people from all walks of life and backgrounds can encounter the glory of God for Gospel-centered heart change and conviction that leads to repentance.

Pray together

Bethel does not see prayer as the last line of defense, but as the primary way we communicate with and listen to a holy God. The church believes in the power of both individual and corporate prayer. As we pray, we can rest assured that God hears His people and draws us closer to Him.

Serve together

One of the best ways to get to know someone is by serving alongside them. As we serve our families, church, and community, we become the hands and feet of Jesus and grow in relationship with those with whom we link arms.

Grow together

Healthy things grow. Discipleship is not simply growing in knowledge, but growing in the revelation of who God is and being transformed into the image of Jesus. We grow as we do life together—in corporate worship, a classroom, or around a dinner table.

Give together

Bethel desires to cultivate a fearlessly generous community. Financial giving is important, but so is giving time and talent. The church wants to give in a way that stretches faith and gives Jesus the glory—supporting the local church, the community, and the global mission to share the Gospel with everyone.

Play together

Christ came to give life to the fullest, and a life shared together should be filled with fun and laughter. As people made in God’s image, we get to participate in rejoicing with and encouraging one another.
